This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Benefits Service of Bristol City Council.

The Role

Bristol is looking for Benefits Assessors to process entitlement to Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction for its citizens.  You will be responsible for awarding entitlement, ensuring that payments are made promptly and in accordance with appropriate guidelines.  You will have contact with citizens by phone and occasionally face to face.  Experience of benefits would be useful but not essential as full training will be provided. 

About You

The key things we are looking for are:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Experience of using IT systems, including producing letters. 
  • A commitment to delivering high quality customer care. 
  • The ability to work in a performance orientated environment, achieving targets and working to deadlines.

Additional information

Successful candidates will be provided with 12-weeks training.  When the training has been completed you will be based at 100 Temple Street, however the training will take place between Parkview Campus, Whitchurch and 100 Temple Street.
