Women Empowering Nations Launches in Houston and Hosts Girls Leading Our World Summit Saturday, September 26th

Women Empowering Nations will launch in Houston and host the Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) Summit for young women in 8th through 12th grade on Saturday, September 26th  10:00am to 1:00pm at the Children’s Museum of Houston (1500 Binz Houston, TX 77004).  The one day summit will include a host of inspiring sessions promoting self-esteem, sisterhood, and leadership skills for young women.

The event is hosted by Carlisha Williams, Founder of Women Empowering Nations and will include workshops led by Joy Sewing, Fashion and Beauty Editor Houston Chronicle, Ashley Small, Digital PR Strategist and Founder of Medley Incorporated, and Crystal Sowah, CEO of Jane Deux Event Management and Consulting.

GLOW offers its participants life changing opportunities to travel internationally with WEN for service trips.  The GLOW Leadership Conference will be held in Tanzania, East Africa in July 2016. The conference will host African and American female teenage leaders for an engaging week of exploring social change, economic justice, women’s empowerment, and leadership. Those interested in joining the yearlong GLOW leadership program and traveling abroad next summer will receive further information at the Summit.
